Common Grounds Garden
Flowers and produce grown on Avondale’s grounds are sold weekly at the summer Common Grounds Farm Stand in Myers Park. Proceeds benefit the Urban Ministry Center.
Room in the Inn
In partnership with the Urban Ministry Center, our homeless neighbors are welcomed, fed and housed on our campus every Tuesday night, December through March.
Uptown Meal Ministry
Created by Avondale members, this ministry prepares and serves meals to 120 people on the streets of uptown Charlotte, Tuesdays and Thursdays, year-round.
Work Camp Ministries
Youth and adults serve in different communities throughout our country, usually for a week at a time. Groups from other churches are hosted here at Avondale during the summer as they serve Christ through non-profit agencies in our city. International opportunities include recent mission trips to Peru and Haiti.
Freedom School
A literacy focused summer enrichment program for children at risk, grades K-8, on our campus. Church members prepare and serve breakfast, help chaperone field trips, and provide supplies. Offered in conjunction with Freedom School Partners.
