Barbara Hill has been knitting hats for neighbors in need for decades. These colorful hand-made creations have been gifted to others through Room In The Inn, Uptown Meal Ministry, and other community organizations like The Relatives. These days, Barbara has to spend time in bed each day because “my body gave out before my spirit.” “It gives me something positive to do while in bed,” she says. Sometimes, Barbara lies in bed and thinks about who the hats are going to. She imagines who the people are that are facing challenges and prays for them. She also feels grateful, often thinking “there but for the grace of God, I could be in their shoes.”
